Do note if you have posted and want to be notified when someone answers, you should subscribe.

You can do this at the time of creating the topic or reply by selecting the Topic Subscription Notification Type at the bottom left of your screen when creating a message.

Or if you have already posted the topic or reply, and now decide you want subscribe, you can do so opening the topic and clicking on the right-hand side menu option Topic Options and selecting Subscribe to Topic.
