When you attempt to run a report, you may get an error similar to:

261:  The type 'DevExpress.XtraPrinting.TextAlignment' exists in both 'c:\Program Files\Ground Zero Tech-Works Inc\AyaNova\DevExpress.Data.v9.2.dll' and 'c:\WINDOWS\assembly\GAC\DevExpress.Utils3\3.2.1.0__79868b8147b5eae4\DevExpress.Utils3.dll'

Or an error similar to:

Parse Error, no assembly associated with Xml key a3:http://schemas.microsoft.com/clr/nsassem/DevExpress.XtraPrinting/DevExpress.Utils3%2C%20Version%3D3.2.5.0%2C%20Culture%3Dneutral%2C%20PublicKeyToken%3D79868b8147b5eae4 PageInfo

Why?:

This issue appears to be tied to the report template having been originally created with an older AyaNova 3.x version, and the latest printing controls that AyaNova 6 uses is not able to work with them.

Whereas if a new copy of the report template is created in AyaNova 5  (by opening the report template in the designer and selecting Save As) and that copy imported into AyaNova 6, it works fine.

3 Solutions:

Solution 1- make a new copy in AyaNova 5 or 4:

1. Open the report template in AyaNova 5 or 4 in the report designer (for example a limited trial of AyaNova 5)
2. Save As calling it a new name
3. Move to the Report Templates grid in the Administration navigation pane and export this new copy to a file
4. Import the new copy into your AyaNova 6
5. Confirm can now open the new copy
6. Delete the old original report template

 Solution 2 - export the report template and send to us to Save As:

1. If the report template is not a sample, and had been customized, do the following
2. Export the report template to a file via Report Templates grid in the Administration navigation pane as per http://www.ayanova.com/AyaNova6webHelp/exporting_a_report_template.htm
3. Zip up that exported report template file using WinZip
4. Attach that zipped file to an email to support@ayanova.com providing the error message you get (so we know why you are sending the zip file) and what the original sample name of the report template was before you directly edited it (so that when we try to import it here, we know which sample report template to delete first so we can import yours)
5. and we will be happy to import it for you and make a copy for you and send the copy back so that you can import the copy.

 

Solution 3: If a sample report template, download the appropriate zip file below, extract and import

1.  Download the zip file for either AyaNova or AyaNova Lite
2. Extract using WinZip to a temporary folder on your computer
3. View the Report Templates grid in the Administration navigation pane
4. Import each of the report templates that you will use (see the Help file section http://www.ayanova.com/AyaNova6webHelp/importing_a_report_template.htm on how to import a report template)
5. Test the report template by then going to that section of AyaNova and selecting
6. Suggestion is to delete the report templates listed below as they will result in the error message above
