I want a tech to be notified when they have are scheduled. Have placed a checkmark in the Notify Via Email box in the Users & Rights screen for this tech, but they don't get notified. Am I doing something?

I want a tech to be notified when they have are scheduled. Have placed a checkmark in the Notify Via Email box in the Users & Rights screen for this tech, but they don't get notified. Am I doing something?

The Notify Via Email checkbox was for use with the optional add-on Notification Server that was available with AyaNova version 1.8

Due to no interest in this feature during that version release, it was discontinued and not updated for use with new releases. The checkbox on the user entry form has been left to accommodate future releases and those that upgraded from 1.8 to newer releases.

This feature is on the list of new features in AyaNova v3 (the next generation AyaNova). See the forum labeled with the same name.

Do note that you can externally email from within the AyaNova CE program when print previewing a report. For example, lets say a dispatcher creates a workorder with a tech scheduled and now wants to notify the technician via email as well as send a copy of the dispatch report so they can perform the service required. The dispatcher selects to print the Dispatch Report. This opens the Print Preview screen. Instead of directly printing it, instead click on the Export icon (looks like an opened envelope), select the format, select the destination as MAPI, and then send off, entering in the technicians email address where provided and message if needed. This uses your computers default local email program. Detailed information can be found within the AyaNova Manual section "Exporting and Emailing Reports" starting on page 283

Another way of technicians quickly identifying their scheduled workorders is to utilize the Main Workorder List View screen. The Main Workorder List View screen lists workorders by many different criteria. You can create many different views based on different criteria - for example, the status a workorder is at, or list in order of scheduled date, or by the assigned technician and many more criteria. Refer also to the AyaNova Manual sections "Work Order List Screen" and "Work Order List View Setup Screen" starting on page 76 for information on using the main Workorder List View screen and setting up views so you can easily filter to display workorders.

And another way for your remote techs to access their schedule is via the optional add-on ARAS (AyaNova Remote Access Server) using an Internet connection and a standard web browser, they can view their schedule, update workorders and much more. Please do review the ARAS (AyaNova Remote Access Server) forum for more details.

Let us know if you have additional questions.

[Edited Note: Do note the latest version AyaNova v3 includes notifications]
