P.O. sequencing numbers missing

When initiating a new PO, our numbering system has jumped 2 numbers. We cannot locate these two POs, and are not sure if they exist in the system. How can we locate them, and determine the cause of this problem?

Hi

First - confirm that you are viewing all of the PO’s in the Purchase Order grid

that you do NOT have a filter in place that is filtering some PO’s from showing.
that All rows are showing
that you are sorting by the PO number (makes it easier to view in order)
that you have Refreshed the grid so that it is showing all

If the two PO’s are not listed, that means that they have been deleted by someone.

A PO that is not yet ordered can be deleted if the user has Read/Write/Delete rights to the Object.PurchaseOrder item in their security group.

Once an object is deleted, it is fully deleted from the database and is not reversable. You would need to restore from backup from before the record(s) was deleted, and then re-enter any data entered since that backup

If you want to prevent users from being able to delete a PO in the future, make sure that their security group has Object.PurchaseOrder set to Read/Write or less
