Blue screen fatal error

Anytime i attempt to print a dispatch report the machine opens the pdf generator and shows the report, if Itry to print it spools upbut then blue screens and restarts. I’m running XP Pro SP2with all OS updates,is there something I’m missing here? Oh itsalso the trial ware with a 30 day unlock on it as well as the QBI.

It sounds like something is corrupted on your station - either your PDF driver or your printer driver. A few suggestions for troubleshooting:

In the Print Preview are you selecting the actual Print icon in the Print Preview or are you selecting Export Document -> PDF?
If you are selecting the Print icon, are you printing to PDF or are you printing to your default printer?
Your actual printer driver may be corrupted - delete it, reboot, download the latest printer driver from your printer manufacturer, install, don’t forget to reboot again, now print preview in AyaNova and print to that printer.
Do post back your results. If continue to have an issue, do identify the above and provide specifics on exactly what you are selecting in the Print Preview and what printing to or exporting to etc so can provide additonal suggestions if needed.
Regarding the trial AyaNova installation:

When you first install AyaNova, it installs a limited trial licensed AyaNova database licensed for 4 schedulable users and WBI and MBI. It is not licensed for QBI. Also see the AyaNova 4 Help file section (URL removed as for older version no longer supported - see the latest version of AyaNova) on the limitations of the trial AyaNova database

Do note that we offer a 30 day temporary keycode to fully unlock AyaNova and all of its features for the number of scheduable users you need, plus any of the optional add-ons. This is identified on our web site FAQ & Answers question Can I get a full trial with no limitations? I have copied the information from it below

Download the trial installation file AyaNovaSetup.exe from the Downloads web page
Install taking the defaults
Then send an email to support@ayanova.com with the following information:
Your company name
Your company full address and contact information
Your full name (first and last)
Your web site URL address if you have one

To clarify, I downloaded the locked trial then got the 30 day unlock code with QBI the entire package seems to be working correctly except for this issue.

When i select a simple dispatch report or simple report start a new page for each w/o the preview window opens and displays fine. If i select to export to a file then open the file with reader and print it to my normal printer, which is on network as a local printer off another machine and it works fine. If i select any of the print options from within the preview window (either action button or menu option) then the popup window appears saying something similar to “writing xtraReport1 to” and then blue screen and system reboot. No other programs are having trouble printing to the same printer including acrobat reader.

Thank you for clarifying.

I did searching with the printing and report designcomponent developersto see if anyone using has ever experienced similiar to you. They had one posting where a user would experience a blue screen back in August 2007 when printing, and it turned out to be one of his XP patches was corrupted and once reinstalled and rebooted, no more blue screen.

The patch he had an issue with was http://support.microsoft.com/Default.aspx?kbid=935843

I would suggest trying that - apply again reboot and test.

I would also suggest re-confirming all Windows patches have been applied to your computer too.
