If receive "Failed to access IIS metabase" error in web browser

If receive the error listed below, first perform #1 - if the issue continues, then perform #2 which is identified by the link in the error itself.

  1. Uninstall IIS, reboot. Install IIS. Reconfirm WBI is ready to go. Try WBI connection via web browser again

  2. If above does not address the issue, than perform the steps as outlined in the link in the error message found at http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=267904
