How to set up Multi-columns in a report that is not a label

Let’s say for example, your Dispatching Report ends up being a number of pages, because you use Tasks

Rather than have each task listed on one line, you could have two columns.

First I will show an image of what my example report template looks like before I make any changes. Right now in Detail5 band, the task related datafields take up the whole width of the page, and only one task per line.

So now I edit doing the following:

  1. First, move and adjust all the fields that will display to the left more than half way (as you will be wanting two columns, so you can only use half of the page for where your datafields are located)

  1. Now click on the band where the fields are located, to select it so that you can view its Property Grid (in screenshot below, this happens to be the band called Detail5)

  1. Expand the Multi-Column Options by clicking on the +, and edit.

In my example, I edited the Column Count to 2, and edited the Direction to First Across, then Down

  1. Preview and see how it looks. And edit further as needed. In my preview below, the Tasksnow display side by side.
