<P This error is occurring because something else is already accessing the AyaNova database preventing you from accessing it.<P By default when AyaNova is first installed, it is installed for stand-alone single use - meaning that only one program can access the database at a time - meaning if you want to run the AyaNova program, you can not have any other program also accessing the database.<P So one or more of the following may be the reason: " "

  1. When you installed, you selected to install the network Generator and/or the Data Portal.

Both the network Generator and the Data Portal are for use with a network configuration only . When you install those optional features, they immediately try to connect to the database - therefore preventing you from running the AyaNova program because they already have connected.

What you need to do is uninstall AyaNova, reboot, and install again - this time, do not select to install those until you have configured for network use. See the AyaNova 4 Help file for configuring for network use.

  1. You have started the AyaNova program more than once.

As AyaNova is by default installed for stand-alone single use, you can not run the AyaNova program multiple times on your computer. Do a CTRL-ALT-DEL to bring up the Task Manager and make sure there are no instances of AyaNova.exe running in the processes, and than try again.

  1. You running another AyaNova program that already has access to the AyaNova database

As AyaNova is by default installed for stand-alone single use, you can not run any of the optional add-ons (QBI, PTI, import utilities, etc) at the same time. Make sure these are all shut down, and than run AyaNova.

  1. Some other program on your computer is accessing the AyaNova database.

As AyaNova is by default installed for stand-alone single use, some other program may have already taken access of the database such as an anti-virus program. Make an exception with your anti-virus program to not scan the AyaNova database file. Than reboot, and try again.

Remember, you can access the AyaNova database from multiple connections simultaneously only if AyaNova is configured for network use. See the AyaNova 4 Help file for configuring for network use.
