Restricting Calendar views

We have setup a group called Service Techs and we would like to make it so that when a service tech logs in and clicks on the calendar, they can only see their calendar. We don’t want them to be able to change the view to include all techs. Is there a way to make this happen?

Hi

One of the many new features of AyaNova 5 is that Regions have been expanded so that you can use Regions to restrict access to data based on the region assigned to.

In AyaNova 5, if you set a User’s entry screen to a specific Region, that user will only be able to view data that is either set to All Regions or set to that specific Region.

For example, if each of your techs have selected in their User entry screens a different Region, then in the Schedule screen, they will not be able to see the schedule for any other tech as each tech would be of a different Region.

For example let’s say you have three techs (Bill, Mark, Henry) so you would create three specific Regions in addition to the default All Regions:

All Regions
Region 1 (for the first tech - example naming only of course as you can name whatever)
Region 2
Region 3
In each schedulable user’s entry screen, select the specific Region

In Bill’s user entry screen, select the default region as Region 1
In Mark’s user entry screen, select the default region as Region 2
In Henrys user entry screen, select the default region as Region 3
Other users, such as dispatching, manager, etc keep selected the All Regions as the default region in their user entry screen so that they can see all data.

Now when one of those techs logs in, even if they select other Schedulable User Groups to view, they will only view in the graphical Schedule screen data that has the same Region they are set to.

We have version 3.6, does that version do this?

Thanks for the reply.

No. AyaNova 3.6 does not have this feature.

The Regions feature that allows you to restrict data access based on the region assigned to is a new feature of AyaNova 5

So that you can see all of the many new features, I encourage you to check out the new features of AyaNova 5 (URL removed as for older version no longer supported - see the latest version of AyaNova) as well as the new features that came out with AyaNova version 4 at (URL removed as for older version no longer supported - see the latest version of AyaNova)

Also review the FAQ & Answers web pagesection on upgrading to AyaNova 5 as it provides answers to many common questions about upgrading from AyaNova 3, and I encourage you to try out AyaNova 5 as it says on the FAQ & Answers web page.
