Several questions from a new user

Greetings,

I’m evaluating Aya Nova for our business, and here are my initial questions:

  1. Is there a place to put “to do” items, which are not set with a firm time and can automatically roll over to the next day when they are not completed? If so, can they be assigned to a user?

  2. If we use the mobile add on, can we set it so that a tech in the field can ONLY see his own schedule?

  3. I tried adding a second workorder item to a workorder, but it doesn’t appear on the schedule screen. Am I missing something?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Bill

Hello Bill, great to hear you are evaluating AyaNova!

1. Is there a place to put “to do” items, which are not set with a firm time and can automatically roll over to the next day when they are not completed? If so, can they be assigned to a user?

If the service required that has been identified in the workorder is not completed, one suggestion is to have the Close By Date field set, so that you are notified if the workorder is not checkmarked Closed by that date, and can than reassign, etc.

Will also see this listed in the Dashboard as Overdue too!

Each user in AyaNova can subscribe to events they want to be notified about - check out more starting http://www.ayanova.com/AyaNova7webHelp/what_do_i_use_notifications_fo.htm

If the assigned Scheduled User record has a Start and Stop date and time, and a specific tech is selected than that workorder item will show on the graphical Schedule screen as scheduled for that user.

You can also just select the tech’s name in the Scheduled User record (or in the Labor record). The workorder item will not show in the graphical Schedule screen, but this tech can easily see what is assigned to their self by filtering the Scheduled Users grid in the Service navigation pane User column by their own name.

Have you checked out the many uses of the grids in AyaNova? including filtering, and sorting and pinning so that you can quickly and easily see at a glance.
Start with http://www.ayanova.com/AyaNova7webHelp/filtering_a_grid.htm

2. If we use the mobile add on, can we set it so that a tech in the field can ONLY see his own schedule?

The optional add-on MBI(mobile browser interface) by default only shows that scheduleable resource’s schedule when that tech logs in. You do not have to set anything for this.

Have you tried out MBI?
Check out overview of MBI’s features http://www.ayanova.com/MBI_Mobile_browser_interface_field_service.htm
And at the bottom of that web page, the demo MBI login URL link so you can see it in action
And you can certainly fully set up and trial with your own AyaNova database while trialing too - network AyaNova first as per http://www.ayanova.com/AyaNova7webHelp/ayanova_network_installation.htm
And then MBI installation steps start with http://www.ayanova.com/AyaNova7webHelp/mbi_installation_and_configura.htm

3. I tried adding a second workorder item to a workorder, but it doesn’t appear on the schedule screen. Am I missing something?

The graphical Schedule screen displays scheduled workorder items - a workorder item that has at least one Scheduled Users record http://www.ayanova.com/AyaNova7webHelp/scheduled_users2.htm

Perhaps you do not have a scheduled record for the second workorder item?
View the second workorder item (i.e. click either its record header to select it, or click within on of that workorder item’s fields such as the Workorder Summary)
Now select the Scheduled Users subsection for that selected workorder item
Do you have a Scheduled Users record for that workorder item?
And is there a specific Start Service Date & Time and Stop Service Date & Time set?
And a specific scheduleable User selected? (if a specific user is not selected, the workorder item will still show on the graphical Schedule screen, but would display under the Unassigned for that scheduled day)

Check those out, and let us know additional questions
